On 23 November 2016, the Federation of European Accountants (FEE) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) organised a breakfast discussion around professional ethics where the representative of the Romanian accounting profession in the FEE Board was also present.
This debate originated in the publication by ICAS of the paper “Moral Courage”, part of the “The Power of One” series published by the Scottish Institute, which provides practical guidance for professional accountants facing ethical dilemmas. The attendants tried to identify whether, at the level of professional bodies, there is the need to focus more on “moral courage” in supporting the implementation of professional ethical principles.
