On 22 November 2016, IFAC has elected Ms Rachel Grimes (Australia) as its President for a two-year mandate that will come to term in November 2018, and Mr In-Ki Joo (South Koreea) as Deputy President.
On the occasion of the recent elections, three new members have been elected for the IFAC Council: Philippe Arraou (France), Tommye Barie (United States), and Idesio da Silva Coelho (Brazil), and three associate member bodies have become full members of the Federations: Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants; Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (Portugal); and Union of Accountants, Auditors and Financial Workers of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
