Ministry of Public Finances proposes a series of measures to facilitate payments for the outstanding budgetary obligations after the date of declaration of the state of emergency.

The Ministry of Public Finances (MFP) published for consultation a draft OUG project on some fiscal and budget measures and the amending and supplementing some regulatory acts. Among other aspects, the project aims at:

♦ Measures to facilitate payments for the outstanding budgetary obligations after the date of declaration of the state of emergency, managed by the central tax body

The regulation of an alternative measure regarding the tax measures adopted after the state of emergency entering is being proposed, for which the application period closes on October 25, 2020.

In this context is being proposed a regulation  to simplify the procedure for granting installment payments not more than  12 months, for taxpayers who have been good payers until the entry of the state of emergency, regardless of the form of ownership.

Thus, the payment facilitation consists of the staggering on payment for no more than 12 months of the main budgetary obligations as well as for the related tax obligations, the maturity/term of payment of which is fulfilled after the date of the state of emergency declaration. According to the initiators, “on the one hand, the purpose of this measure is, from a taxpayer’s viewpoint, to support compliance with payment and, at the same time, to maintain their financial resources during this period of health crisis, and on the other hand, from the state perspective, to ensure the collection of accurate and regular amounts to the consolidated general budget.”
