International Scientific Conference “Accounting and Auditing in the Context of Globalization: Achievements and Prospects for Development”

On 19 and 20 April 2018, the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM), together with the Association of Professional Accountants and Auditors of the Republic of Moldova (ACAP) organized in Chișinău, with the support of ACCA and KPMG in Moldova, the annual International Scientific Conference dedicated to the National Accountant’s Day, having as this year’s topic “Accounting and Auditing in the Context of Globalization: Achievements and Prospects for Development”.

On this occasion, the President of the CECCAR Iași Branch, prof. Costel Istrate, PhD,  conveyed to our colleagues in the Republic of Moldova a message of solidarity and continuance of the good cooperation relations with correspondent professional institute, ACAP, expressing CECCAR’s availability for sharing good practices and discussions focused on the good organization and operation of the accounting profession, considering Romania’s experience regarding the evolution of the regulatory environment related to accounting, financial reporting and the accounting profession.

The President of the CECCAR Iași Branch also held a presentation regarding “The evolution of accounting regulations and research in Romania after 1990” during the Conference’s Plenary Session, which aroused the participants’ interest, who were eager to find out more details regarding how the academic and research community adapted to the increasingly demanding requirements pertaining to the national and international visibility of accounting researchers, but also about the practical issues related to the organization, regulation and operation of the accounting profession in Romania.
