The ESG Reporting Task Force held a meeting on the 1st of March 2017, at the Accountancy Europe headquarters in Brussels. The Task Force is entrusted with following the European developments on environmental, social and governance matters and with preparing position papers on issues that need the accounting profession contribution.
This was the first meeting of the task force for 2017, and the newly appointed CECCAR representative was one of the attendants. The agenda was very ambitious and included updates on current initiatives: NFI Directive transposition process, European Commission’s progress on the non-binding guidelines, the joint initiative with CSR Europe and the European Commission’s consultation on capital markets union.
This came also as an opportunity to discuss Accountancy Europe overall strategy 2017 – 2018 and ESG Reporting Task Force Strategy based on the feedback received from the representatives.
Representatives from FERMA (the Federation of European Risk Management Associations) were also invited to the meeting for an exchange of views.
