The Ministry of Finance has set the level of specific excise tax on cigarettes applicable until March 31st, 2024

The Order of the Minister of Finance No 1.111/2023 for the approval of the level of the specific excise tax on cigarettes was published in the Official Gazette No. 201 of March 10th, 2023. According to the normative act, the level of the specific excise tax on cigarettes in the period April 1st, 2023 – March 31st, 2024, inclusive is RON 493.988/1,000 cigarettes.
