In the period of 27-28 February, a delegation of The Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania led by the President of the Superior Council, Full Professor, Robert-Aurelian Sova, PhD and licensed accountant, attended the 33rd edition of the International Congress of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Tunisia held in Tunis.
This year’s edition of the Congress with the theme the digital revolution: challenges and opportunities for the Tunisian economy, was organized in opening session, plenary session, expert’s panel and workshops to debate subjects of interest for the accounting profession in the new economic environment. In the opening plenary session, the invited speakers talked and debated about the strategy for digital transformation, threats of the digital age, cyberspace and its domination but also its opportunities for the economic development and of the society as a whole.
The expert’s Panel focused on identifying the key factors of the success of the digital transformation project.
The ten thematic workshops gathered speakers from all the relevant sectors and all the interested parties, from financial and security specialists to representatives of the public institution to professional accountants who presented and debated alongside with the participants subjects as, among many others, digital convergence of the financial world, the transformation of the finance function and the new technologies with focus on smart automatization, the Government strategy for the digitalization of public administration etc.
The works of the two days of the Congress were closed by a plenary session were the invited specialist talked about and emphasized on the crucial role of the professional accountant in the digital transformation both of its practice but mainly of its clients. In order to remain relevant and competitive the professional accountant must adapt to the new environment and new technologies.
