IFAC’s Recommendations for G20 – Smart Regulation, Heightened Transparency, and Inclusive Growth

On June 21, the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) issued a call for the G20 countries before the G20 Summit to be held in Osaka, Japan, on June 28-29, 2019. The call comprises 10 recommendations divided in three categories:

 - Smarter Regulation

  • Make Regulation Smarter, and More Effective
  • Create a Consistent, Transparent, Global Regulatory Environment
  • Implement Internationally Accepted Standards

- Heightened Transparency

  • Strengthen Governance
  • Embrace Integrated Reporting
  • Enhance Public Sector Financial Management
  • Collaborate to Tackle Corruption

- Inclusive Growth

  • Create an Environment for Small and Medium-sized Entity Growth and Inclusiveness
  • Create a Secure and Digital Ready Investment Environment
  • Collaborate for a Coherent International Tax System

 IFAC believes these recommendations to be specific, actionable steps toward realizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Japan’s global vision for an innovative and intelligent “Society 5.0”.
