IFAC and IBA announce their commitment on combating corruption ahead of the Global Economic Leaders’ (G20) meeting

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the International Bar Association (IBA) announced on Wednesday, 18 July, their shared commitment to continue their work combating corruption, signing the IBA and IFAC Anti-Corruption Mandate ahead of the meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, taking place in Buenos Aires during 21-22 July 2018.

According to IFAC’s press release, its research has revealed that there is a strong link between the percentage of professional accountants in the workforce and more favourable scores on the main global measure of corruption, as the profession promotes the adoption of ethical, educational, investigation and discipline requirements.
