As a result of the extensive discussions between the CECCAR governing structures and the representatives of the Ministry of Public Finance (MFP), the legislative project on the statutory audit of annual financial statements and of consolidated annual financial statements and on the amendment of specific normative acts has been launched for public consultation on the MFP website. The content of the legislative project provides for the exit of the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania from under the oversight of the Council for the Public Interest Oversight of the Accountancy Profession (CSIPPC) and the amendment of the Government Ordinance 65/1994.
For this purpose, we are requesting all members to communicate all prospect modifications / supplements to the G.O. 65/1994 on the organization of the accounting expertise and licensed accountants’ activity, republished in The Official Journal of Romania, Part I, No.13 of 8 January 2008, with subsequent amendments and supplements, comprised in the aforementioned law.
Please note that the main changes introduced by the legislative project regarding the G.O. 65/1994 refer to completing the scope of services that can be performed by expert accountants.
