The IASB Chairman, Hans Hoogervorst explains in a brief interview why the board’s agenda is subject to a consultation process every five years. As the IASB is currently focused on completing its work on insurance and the Conceptual Framework, Mr Hoogervorst notes that the board’s main direction is now “Better Communication.” Another objective of the Board is to employ a rigorous research program for directing its standard-setting process to become more efficient.
