Congress of the Romanian Accounting Profession, 22nd Edition

Integrated Thinking, Globalization and Technology – The Future of the Profession is the theme of the 22nd Edition of the Congress of the Romanian Accounting Profession, which will be held in Bucharest during 28-29 September, in the context of the celebrations marking 100 years since Romania’s Great Union and 97 years of history for the Romanian accounting profession.

The event will bring together around 500 national and international participants – CECCAR members and representatives of its governing structures, as well as representatives of the regulatory authorities and public institutions, the business environment, and international and regional accounting organizations. The Congress will be preceded, on 28 September, by the International Seminar organized in collaboration with Comité de Integración Latino Europa-América (CILEA).

The theme of one of the most important events dedicated to the Romanian accounting profession, with international participation, is especially relevant in the context of a volatile business environment and uncertain regulatory terrain, when thinking beyond the financial elements of an organisation is critical for ensuring future growth and value creation. It has become more and more important for organisations to adopt an integrated thinking approach, by considering their strategy and performance holistically and improving the way in which they communicate with customers, investors and all other stakeholders.

Who better than a professional accountant, as a strategic advisor, to drive this change and help companies to better understand their business and the factors that determine their ability to create value over time so they can implement a business model that will help them grow?

As globalisation and technological disruptions are increasingly impacting our profession, accountants’ role as trusted consultants could also provide the opportunity to diversify the services we provide, in the public interest, and help us cope with the challenges ahead.

This year’s edition of the Congress will focus on these highly relevant issues and identifying solutions that will help us, together with our partners from the business environment and regulatory institutions and authorities, find the best way forward.
