World Standard-Setters Conference and Meeting of International Forum of Accounting Standard Setters

On 26-28 September 2016, London was the host of the World Standard-Setters Conference and of the International Forum of Accounting Standard Setters Meeting, successive events attended by CECCAR specialist on financial reporting and standard-setting.

The first day of the WSS Conference addressed in its plenary sessions matters related to the progress made in implementation and education, as well as practical issues related to reporting financial performance. There were also optional sessions such as those dealing with the education on IFRS 15, IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and IFRS for SMEs. The second days of the conference was dedicated to reporting financial performance, the general conceptual framework and to the cooperation with national standard-setters.

The WSS Conference closed on the 27th of September, being closely followed by the International Forum of Accounting Standard Setters (IFASS) Meeting. Among the matters on the 2-day agenda, we can mention: exchanges between IASB and IFASS/national standard-setters, professional judgement and “terms of likelihood” under IFRS, the development of a corporate reporting framework, not-for-profit-reporting and public sector reporting.
